This guide shows you how to install the VPN Manager for OpenVPN on your OpenELEC device. You will need to send two zips to your OpenELEC device so I am going to presume that you know how to do this.
The add-on allows you to login to VPN accounts from:
- IPVanish
- PIA
- VyprVPN
- ibVPN
- NordVPN
- tigerVPN
- PureVPN
- Hide My Ass!
You can add up to 5 separate VPN server locations and cycle through them with the click of a button. You can set certain add-ons not to use a VPN.

- Download the VPN Manager zip file and then transfer it to your OpenELEC device
- Download the OpenELEC Unofficial Repo zip file and then transfer it to your OpenELEC device
- Open Kodi
- Select SYSTEM
- Select Add-Ons
- Select Install from zip file
- Navigate to where you downloaded the VPN Manager zip in the first step and select service.vpn.manager-0.1.0.zip
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
- Select Install from zip file AGAIN
- Navigate to where you downloaded the OpenELEC Unofficial Repo zip in the second step and select repository.unofficial.addon.pro-6.0.2.zip
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
- Select Install from repository or Get Add-Ons on Helix
- Select OpenELEC Add-ons (unofficial)
- Select Program Add-Ons
- Select openvpn
- Select Install
- Wait for Add-on enabled notification
- Go back to your Home Screen
- Select PROGRAMS
- Select VPN Manager for OpenVPN
- Select Add-on Settings
- Select Wizard
- Choose your VPN Provider
- Enter your VPN Username & select Done
- Enter your VPN Password & select Done
- VPN Manager will now start
- You can now choose a primary VPN profile. By default when you boot up your OpenELEC device it will connect to this. You can change the settings so it doesn’t automatically connect.
- Once connected you will see the IP and connected status
- You can now go into the add-on settings again and add 4 more VPN locations. You can also familiarise yourself with the add-on settings
