Chromnitweet is a Chrome extension that allows you to tweet directly from the Omnibar in your Chrome browser without having to leave the page you are currently on.

Once installed you have to authorise it to use your account and then highlight the Ommibar and then type tw and hit space. You can then type in your tweet, hit enter when you have finished and your tweet will immediately appear on your timeline. It does also tell you the number of characters you have left as you type.

Long URLs will be shortened automatically once you submit, so if your tweet contains a URL, don’t worry about going over 140 characters, the developer says.
